The Nine Planes of Parsnip: The Realms that See Light: The Window of Scars

To Gaze, Perhaps to Dream...

Many of the Condemned have stopped here to wonder at a strange thinning of the sky. Here, the Dome of Heaven, unlike anywhere else in the Forbidden Parsnip, takes on a translucent cast, similar to the outermost skin of an onion. Movement is rumored to have been seen through the Window of Scars, though this has never been documented to my satisfaction; they say that enormous images, often limited to a face or hand alone, have filled the great Window at such times. None know what this might portend, yet the signifigance of such an event lead to the founding of the Sisterhood of the Scar and countless other pseudo-spiritual groups.

It is without doubt, however, that all who gaze through this strange window to the realms beyond, either in longing or in fear, have been visited by a great sadness; the possibility that there be More Than This shatters the hearts of all but the most placid.
